WMD Group Expands Internationally by Founding a New Subsidiary in Spain

WMD Iberia is to strengthen project business in Spain and Portugal and to serve as a bridge to the Latin American market.

The WMD Group reached a new milestone along the path of international expansion by founding a new subsidiary, WMD Iberia, on 12 December, 2017. This move aims to further establish WMD’s software solutions in the Spanish market and will ensure more comprehensive local customer support. Many customers of the WMD Group are already positioned across the globe and expect cross-border support for the implementation of their projects, the consolidation of their processes, etc. WMD will also serve the Portuguese market through the new regional subsidiary.

After difficult years in the wake of the financial crisis, Spain’s economy is back on the upswing and is now considered one of the fastest-growing markets in Europe. The business volume of local industries and multinational companies is growing – and with it the willingness to invest. Against this background, the WMD Group has identified growing interest in IT solutions that help companies digitize their ERP-related business processes in order to become more agile and efficient, while at the same time reducing costs.

WMD Group’s xSuite information management platform is designed as a modular system for end-to-end, ERP-integrated purchase-to-pay and order-to-cash workflow automation. xSuite supports companies in handling the entire range of digital incoming mail processing, workflow-supported invoice, purchase and sales order processing as well as folder and contract management and archiving. The team running the new subsidiary includes experienced SAP, xSuite and business process consultants who have been involved in many international projects and large-scale installations. The managing director on site is Gonzalo Isla (44). Born in Bilbao, Gonzalo Isla has been with the WMD Group since 2010. He has a broad knowledge of all current SAP modules, ABAP programming, and international project management. Prior to joining WMD, Gonzalo Isla worked in the IT unit of a globally leading cement producer.

According to Andreas Karge, Managing Director of the WMD Group and responsible for the subsidiaries in Europe and Asia, “WMD Iberia will also help us engage with Latin American markets, which we believe to show growth potential comparable to that of Europe.” WMD has been active in North America since the beginning of 2016 through its xSuite Solutions Inc. subsidiary and serves its global customers from other regional subsidiaries in Europe and Asia.
